Oil supply opinion...

Post by acarlson »

I currently have a "christmas tree" type contraption hooking up all my oil lines and sensors:

I want to add a 4th connection for an oil pressure gauge. I'm considering replacing the existing adaptors with an oil distribution block:

and running a single line from the engine oil pressure port to the distribution block and running all of the oil sensors and supplies off of the block. I'm wondering if there will be any pressure difference by routing the oil supply for these through a remote connection verses connecting directly to the engine oil port. Anyone have any experience with something like this ?

This mod has been done many times and it's a great way to clean-up the mess and take the stress off of the aluminum threads. Most people mount it on the frame rail and run a flexible line to the engine. Just make sure you can change the belt without disconnecting anything. The line usually runs down low, in front of the alternator. No difference in oil pressure readings.
