Yellow Trans-Axles? Just Curious...

Post by GasDaddy140 »

When I first saw my field acquired 65 Corsa heap's yellow trans-axle, I thought, why would someone paint that thing yellow? Then I saw a few more yellow trans-axles while searching Corvair "things" online. I have painfully hand rubbed, scraped, brushed, wiped, and sprayed my yellow trans-axle clean on my work table. I'm trying preserve the yellow

Transaxles from GM were typically bare cast iron. If you see one that is yellow then someone painted it.

Thanks Notched! :tu: And for the VIN decode too ( I have a 1965 Corsa made in, March). Again, I think, why would someone paint that thing yellow? I'm keeping it yellow.

The original owner of my 66 Corsa painted the transaxle industrial green. Needless to say I stripped it all off!
