Hi,
Has anyone used the pictured fatter fan bearing? I just realized that I'll need to increase my bore a little too.

thats not a oversize bearing. thats stock for 65-9.
the smaller one on the cover is stock for 61-64.

Thank You, Scott V.!
I have found that there were also some early car parts in my acquired Corvair parts collection. I'm sure that the overlooked correct blower assembly is laying out in my lean-to. I'll be back-in-action now!

Re: Oversize Blower Bearing Use?
NOTE: The 1964 mag. fan is a ONE YEAR ONLY FAN since it fits the earlier "small" bearing. Desirable for those who want a stock correct 64 fan. The 65-69 mag. fans look the same as the 64, but fits the latter "larger" bearing.
NEVER force a bearing in or out of the cover as it will ruin the cover. Heat up the cover and the bearing will come out easily. Same for install and the bearing flange MUST be the proper height above the top flange or you'll loose cooling efficiency.

Thanks for the installation precautions , and fan information. I'll try to sell the 64 fan on eBay to someone you may need it! Then I can buy more parts that I need.
