I pulled the oil pan off to install a new gasket and found a few very small pieces of aluminum
I think it came from when I put a helicoil in a stripped out p0lug hole
any thing I need to do to try to clean the oil lines better
metal

Re: metal
Not real sure how shavings from a spark plug hole repair could end up in the crankcase, unless you had the oil filler cap off. But I suppose anything is possible. Did you have the blower cover removed?
Re: metal
no I never had the blower cover off
they are very small particles if they
made it through an open intake valve could they somehow get into the oil.
do you think I should pull the blower cover and see what the bearings look
or just put it back together and run it the way it is and see what happens

Re: metal
If it were me, I'd complete an oil change and drive it. If you don't hear any knocking and don't have oil pressure problems then drive it until the next oil change is due and then drop the pan again to see if the problem continues. Unless you've cleaned the pan recently, that metal could have been in there for many years.
