The Corvair engine design, reliability, versatility, etc. also explains why it is so popular with private pilots to power their aircraft. They would not want to risk their lives based on the use of a poorly designed or poorly manufactured engine!

I removed the ventilation system and every thing is clear and free of any obstruction. I could do a compression test if I can talk my brother into driving 2 hours to get here and give me a hand. Other than that I do not have the expertise or the money to start doing major repairs on this vehicle. I'm not sure where I'll be going with this from here

Next week it will get a compression check done and see what is going on with the cylinders. It also has an engine rebuild just before I purchased it, so maybe the rings have not seated yet, that is something I just thought about. It has about 1500 miles on the rebuild.
