So while replacing my differential I saw that the main seal is leaking and causing a wet clutch. This is the disc that was in there.
So is that disc the bottom one on this page? http://www.corvair.com/user-cgi/catalog ... N&page=110
And if so other than reduced chatter is there any benefits of using it? And am I better off with it or a std style 9" clutch disc?
Thanks for your input.

No benefit other than reduced chatter on heavier than stock rigs.

Re: Clutch disk confirmation needed.
When I developed the mod back in the '70s it was on a factory camper to which I had added a heavy extended roof, plus I towed stuff quite often. I was getting about 3000 miles between clutch jobs. Once I added the Vega disc, the chattering never came back. It took some mods to make it fit but I think Clarks tells you what you need to do in their instruction sheet. If you just have a standard Corvan with once and a while use for heavy loads, you don't really need it. Just make sure your transmission mounts are in good shape because that's a big part of chatter and the subsequent hot spots.

Re: Clutch disk confirmation needed.
I plan on replacing all the mounts. Thanks for the info.
Is there a huge difference between the new and rebuilt discs?

Craig replies: In my experience there's no difference between a new and rebuilt as long as the final thickness (of either one) is correct and the rebuilt is on the 2nd design "welded" (not riveted) center.
