60' 700 Will Not Start At All
Re: 60' 700 Will Not Start At All
I have just replaced the distributor condenser with a suitable one, and the car still does not turn on. This is simply adding to the confusion of what could be possibly wrong with the car, as everything which is necessary for it to start, is in fine order, at least thus far observed...

Have you tried the jumper wire to the coil as mentioned?
Re: 60' 700 Will Not Start At All
Broken/frayed points coil lead inside the distributor? The wire flexes via vacuum advance and gets brittle with age, maybe down to a strand or two.

Full marks for knowing both the correct value and units of capacitance! Good man.Frank DuVal wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 10:12 pm Tried another condenser? They can fail suddenly. If you have a Fluke or other meter with a capacitance function you can just read it and see if it is ~ .18 to .23 MFD. (uF for you youngsters)[/color]
