Thanks for the FORUM!

Post by CarMel »

Thanks very much, Scott!

I was wondering about the potential existence of this forum, just this morning, as I was having problems posting a couple of pics to VV.

Hopefully, this can become a whole new way for Corvair enthusiasts to get together...

I tried to upload my Pic of the car. Says it was an invalid photo. It is in JPEG format. What format does the forum use? BITMAP GIF? Did not say anything about being too big. Thanks.

I just made the file size capabilities larger for the pictures. Hopefully that fixes the issue.
Let me know. :D

The ability to attach and host pictures within the forum is a huge benefit. Too many forums have dead links and no photos and it is so frustrating to know the info was there at one time but is now lost.

Please limit the photo sizes to something reasonable. People with 12MP cameras can quickly learn how to use the free Google program Picasa and then those of us who spend money on Vairs instead of high speed internet connections will not be penalized.

For about the last 2 years I have been wanting to start a Corvair forum of my own .

I even bought web-space but I really don't have the computer savvy to pull it off.

I know I can edit photos and do a halfway decent job with videos but I am truly computer illiterate.

This forum is almost a perfect match for what I wanted to do myself.

For me a major factor is that the vintage literature that I share is always available for viewing without searching thru endless irrelevant posts to find.

It may sound kinda selfish but I spend money , time , and effort to share the stuff.

I have literally hundreds of vintage articles and such that I think are very interesting and should be archived. This forum gives me the tools to go just that.

Thanks Scott !!!

Well it's an honor to have you here my friend.

If I can change some things to make it a perfect match for you, just let me know.

It's not selfish at all. All that info will help make this place into a much needed resource for the Corvair owner.

And we all appreciate the time, energy, and money you put into preserving this information so we can all enjoy it. :chevy:

I am going to have to sit down with you and give you some more creative power within this forum so you can rearrange things the way you want to.
I think there are some options on the Administrative side that may make it so you can achieve your vision for this project of yours. :worthy:
Or at least talk with you and brainstorm the best way to preserve all this info.

Scott, A minor thing, but I think there should be a "post" button somewhere so that members can easily post a message. Perhaps there is and I just missed it. I'm doing this from a "quick reply"... Thanks for all your work! Charlie

Yes there is... It's a blue chevy bowtie that says "POST REPLY". It kinda blends in. I may need to change the color or something. It's in the lower left hand corner, and in the upper left hand corner.

Don't feel bad Charlie -- It took me awhile to catch on too . I was using the quick reply button and then clicking on full editor.

Some of us just need a big hand to pop out of the monitor and slap us sometimes :oldtimer:
