I agree, it's ENUFF Roberto, next time you will make the trip BEFORE and keep the cash in your pocket until you are happy with the item offered. The seller delivered the car as promised, it runs and drives well... He has responded in many ways, so 9 out of 10 is pretty good in my book. Cars are always a hit or miss, and that's why PayPal only offers a buy back until 10 years old.
I've been to MANY car auctions for cars selling for 5x and 10x the CORSA's selling price, and they had many issues that were evident, but it seems ignored as they sell, and any repairs that claimed to be done are not necessarily proven.
Fix the probs, enjoy the car, and let this go, it's all been said...
I feel that anymore bashing on your part is more vindictive than helpful, we know the facts, you've said enuff. Now take the car for a good ride on the Autobahn, redline that strong 140, blow out the carbon, and start a new positive thread!

Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
Re: Hidden secrets of a $15k offered Corvair
After looking at all the pics of the car I'd say he got a sweet deal even if it does have a couple of problem spots. I've seen worse cars go for the same or more. And besides, the bloody thing is 50 years old. I give kudos to jtvairs for being reluctant to sell sight unseen from the word go.

The moral of the story is that when anyone is looking to buy a decades old car they should always personally inspect the vehicle or have a trusted third party inspector perform that task. Nothing short of that will ever guarantee that you are getting what you expoect out of the deal.
The internet is full of stories of people who buy cars sight-unseen and end up getting burned far, far worse (mart for example). If jtvairs was trying to hide a lemon they would not have posted restoration pics online before the car was offered for sale to anyone. I honestly think the car was a fair value for the low miles and restoration work performed.
If additional relavent details come to light later and need to be added, a mod can be PM'd to re-open this thread but I think we can agree it's time to close it out.
