OK, I think I've finally lost it...............

Here goes my TRY.
Corsa Top Day 1 002 (800x600).jpg
I pretty sure the screws are not suppose to show. Tight as a drum, and still looks 1/2 inch short. Anyone have a picture?

Most of the old top off...............
Corsa Top Day 1 015 (800x600).jpg
And a whole lot of dirt.............
Corsa Top Day 1 017 (800x600).jpg
I had hoped to get more done today. Life got in the way ! :dontknow:

O K, Update It Can Be DONE !!
Corvair Top 3 001 (800x600).jpg
A couple of small wrinkles in the right sail, came out well with steam.
Corvair Top 3 003 (800x600).jpg
I do believe the instructions could have been written better.
Corvair Top 3 005 (800x600).jpg
But I think it came out OK. :banghead:

It really was NOT a lot of fun, but here are the reasons that I tried it.

After check with the upholsterer, I was quoted a price for a new top, pads and well. That was it, those parts, and labor.

Quick look at Clark's, and I added all the seals, cables, boot, and boot bag. After buying a stapler, I still saved $700. That made-up my mind.

Finished it, then squared the doors up, and added the steering wheel that I took off the Buggy.
Corvair Wheel 2 015 (800x600).jpg
All-in-all a pretty good day. :zzzz:

I had two problems, First was that I "scratched" the top on the right sail, the trim was removed and caught on the body. :banghead:
Anyone know of a REPAIR? not really that noticeable, just really pissed me off.

The Second, was the front of the top,. How and where to attach and finish.
Corvair Top 2 001 (800x600).jpg
Took me a full Day to make sense of it. No picture right now, I'll post one later.

Thanks again for the advice.

Top Work 006 (800x600).jpg
Still not sure if its correct, but no staples, and don't look like it will leak.

Very good for a novice. I don't think I would even want to try one even with 27 years as a mattress builder. :tu: :tu: :tu:

Yes, I used the instructions from Clarks. Many measurements that help.

I also viewed ALL the videos that I could find.

Good Luck, and Enjoy. :tu:
