Thanks for the comments Guys! The seats are out of a 76 Pontiac. Then; as was in the 60's, most of the seats in all GM divisions were the same, just different coverings.
The interior is slated for a redo by my daughter. Well see....

I have been reassembling the trim and installing new weatherstripping, attaching new or NOS emblems. No pics lately but it is coming along slowly. Should be on the road in the next few days! All the parts under the dash and the instrument cluster will go in this week. When I have it on the street, I will post some pictures in a new '68 build thread!
THEN, I can get back on my 65 Corsa Convertible project and finish it before spring. I am only a year late on that one! lol
My original '65 Corsa Turbo Convertible, which now belongs to my oldest son, will be next in line!

I have finally RE-started on the 65 Corsa convertible again! Although the 68 Monza is not quite finished... The days are getting short.d. Nice calm, sunny days, to weld outside, are few and far between! So...... today was the day to finish up welding the passenger fender and inner structure.

Although the fender looks like it falls too fast to the front, the hood fits perfectly and the body lines are straight

my 68 project has taken up most of my spare time! My elderly mother more and my Asian wife the rest.
I have finally been able to squeeze in a few hours to work on this project and take a few pictures.

Yeah closer. I've put 3 hoods on it trying to find the best one I can. Brought home another one from Wichita, KS; Terry Kalp's shop. It looks like this the one.
Once I have it on the car, I will remove the top frame to powder coat, and get the car to the painter.

I like 68s... I am a side marker light kind of guy. That being said... I couldn't pass up the 65 I got just for side marker lights.

Now that most of the body work is finished, I have turned my attention to the Convertible top frame.
Here are a few pictures of the removal and blasted frame. The actuators for the power top were taken apart, cleaned, re-greased and then re-assembled!
The VERY rusty arms were chemically cleaned.

OOPS! My 140 Convertible engine is in need of repair!
Getting it ready to take to the painter, it "coughed and then would not even turn over! Now I know WHY! or at least mostly... I haven't found the reason it broke the cam gears YET!
Nothing internal was hurt that I can see, with the top cover off. However, being as anal as I am, a total rebuild with new cam and gear as well as new crank gear, rings , bgs and refresh the heads will be in order! But not before I transplant a 95HP engine to get it to the painter!!!!!

WOW you dropped that engine pretty quick! It is nice having a spare around. Are you going to rebuild it or do you have a shop you like to use?

The spare had to come out of another '65 Corsa convertible; purchased from the Terry Kalp stable, a few years ago!
It is a LM 95 HP PG . It is in line to be sold when I can get an engine back in it.
I got it out today and transferred/traded bell housings for the clutch. I am soaking the pilot bushing in oil overnight and everything will go back together tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it to the painter on Saturday or Sunday if the weather holds. :fingerscrossed:
No worries....
