Working on the replacement front end assembly. The folks at the the tire shop could not align the old one because it was too rusty....
I bought a 65 front suspension assembly and a set of 67 backing plates, hubs, brake hardware, and steering components. After discovering the JOY that is the difference between 65 anchor bolts and 66-69 anchor bolts... I have it sorted out. My bushings from Clarks should be delivered today!
I have cleaned up most of the separate bits, now onto the assembly. taking it apart tonight and beginning the removal of the old bushings.
Also I rescued the Crank and cam out of "Field Find"s old corroded motor. I do not think I could ever have done it without my buddy looking over my shoulder saying, "so, if you think the barrels and postons are shot, why not just cut them off so you can split the case... Huh...worked great!
the cam cleaned up nice. I am REALLY glad that I did not try to rotate it while frozen!!!!
