my interior project (WHAT A PAIN IN THE @$$)

Post by 66corsa57isetta »

just finished up a 2 day project on my interior. replaced the carpet and the seats. first time doing both those things. the seats are corbeau GTSII seats with corvair specific brackets. they were a PITA to install the "corvair specific" brackets i got were off a little bit and had to be bent to fit right.....and they werent exactly easy to bend. and i never want to do carpet again lol. the rear wasnt hard but the front was just a total pain. if i ever have to do carpet again ill have an interior guy do it so i dont have to mess with it. all in all it turned out great and i really love the seats. im happy with the results....but im mostly just glad this project it over! tell me what you think!

Looks nice! Corvair carpet is EASY when compared to other cars. There's no driveshaft hump to deal with. It's still a PITA though, I'll agree with you there.

Great job! Did you put sound deadener in while the carpet was out?

nope. the previous owner had put some down already, but put the ratty old carpet back down over it. so all i had to do was replace the carpet

It looks great and I like the seats.

Although the Corvair doesn't have the hump to deal with it does have that pesky gas pedal to work around .

Looks nice Kevin! Hell, compared to other cars, Corvairs are EASY to lay carpet in. There's no big bellhousing/driveshaft hump to contend with!
