Howdy from central Texas! My son Connor (user Cfinley2021) has posts here that chronicle some of our acquisitions. We only wanted a driver quality Corvair and started with the wrong car, a beat up ‘67 coupe. We found a ‘65 coupe that has a fair body and were going to make one car out of the two. In the end, it is too much work because of rust damage around the windshield. But it does run and is a 4 speed.
Then we found 3 Corvairs abandoned on an old ranch and made arrangements to obtain all three - ‘61 Monza Sedan, ‘61 Greenbrier and ‘62 Corvan (8 door). I attempted to get the Greenbrier running but the engine is locked up.
The next thing was the ‘61 sedan is very nice as was in a garage since 1978. However, someone came scrounging and broke the right side and rear glass. I wanted to do something with it so purchased another parts sedan for the glass to get it sealed up. However the glass is in still installed in the donor car in Dallas. I haven’t had time to retrieve it. Then I bought another ‘61 500 sedan that is complete, but another locked up engine, which also has the needed glass.
After acquiring 7 cars over 3 years, we didn’t have any hope of having anything to drive anytime soon. So, a few weeks ago, I came across a neat ‘61 Lakewood that’s complete and in good shape. It drove 20 miles to our house without incident before the points failed. I just finished a distributor upgrade and installed a Pertronix. It has a collapsed brake hose or two but will be enjoyable to drive afterwards.
We’ve got a lot of things to do but move very slowly. I’ll try to keep this thread updated as we have significant events. Heres some pictures of the Lakewood. Keep you posted.

That looks great!
Do know that engine swaps are not hard. Easier than body work.
