missing body tag

Hello i am new to the forum and recently bought a 61 Corvair that i am trying to bring back,.Well the Body Tag is Missing,..So my question to Anyone who knows What kind of Problem is this?,..besides losing the build info Has Anyone run into this and What did you do about it?,.Thanks

It isn't really a problem. You just won't have any of the information that would normally be on the tag like original paint, interior and other options shown on the tag. Nothing you can do about that unless you have a picture of the original tag.
All this is assuming you are using the correct term and you aren't talking about the VIN.

joelsplace Thanks for the info. positive it isn`t the vin,..it is for sure the body tag Just has never happened to me until now Michigan car so some rust around where it would have been i assume it just rusted and fell off years ago
