I don't know if this will help. This is the only list of Corvair assembly plants I could find. I don't know if any relates to "SAN".

Production plants

All locations are cars only, except as noted:
  • Willow Run Assembly, Willow Run, MI 1960–69
  • Leeds Assembly Plant, Kansas City, MO 1960–61
  • Oakland Assembly, Oakland, CA 1960–63
  • Van Nuys Assembly Van Nuys, CA 1963, 1965 & 1966
  • St. Louis Truck Assembly, St. Louis, MO 1961–65 (FCs)
  • Flint Truck Assembly, Flint, MI 1961–64 (FCs)
  • Oshawa Car Assembly, Oshawa, Ontario 1960–66
  • Mexico City 1961–63 (CKD)
  • Caracas, Venezuela 1960–62 (CKD)
  • Bienne, Switzerland 1960–67 (CKD)
  • Antwerp, Belgium 1960–67 (CKD)
  • Copenhagen, Denmark 1960–61
  • Port Elizabeth, South Africa 1960–62 (All 1960 CKD models)
The CKD plants were operated by GM Overseas Operations (GMOO). Known as a CKD (Complete Knock Down), these cars were made in the US then completely knocked down and then assembled in the countries that they were sent to.

Post a picture of the VIN plate and the body ID tags and we could assist deciphering what you have.

I'm afraid I don't have a photo, I only know what was entered into the computerised system in the uk

the vins are quite often wrong but I can often best guess them

the 'SAN' has stumped me for now!
