This is not your vin tag, it is your trim tag. I am no expert, but what I can see is:

05A = built 1st week of May
ST65 = style (year model) 1965
10567 = Monza coupe
WRN = Willow Run assembly plant
17934 = body number
TR798 = white seats/black carpet interior
Y-1 = Crocus yellow exterior color. Not familiar with the -1.
2MS4PU = included options, no idea which

Here is a breakdown of the information on the body tag you provided...

BODY TAG INFO:

05A
Body Build Date: 05 = May, A = First Week
The first two digits are numbers 01 through 12, indicating the month of manufacture. The letter is A-E, indicating the week of the month. If the letter is an "A" it indicates the first week of the month.

Interior Paint Code: "S"
S = White/Black

STyle 65-10567 WRN 17934 BODY
65 = 1965
Model 10567: 1 = Chevrolet, 05 = Monza, 67 = 2-Door Convertible, WRN = Willow Run, Michigan,
Production Sequence No: 17934

1965 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 2-Door Convertible - 4 Passenger, Total Production: 26,466

TRim 798- = WHITE/BLACK (White Interior with Black Carpet and Instrument Panel)
This 3 digit code represents the interior color and seat type (798 applies to 10500 Monza and 10700 Corsa only, which are fitted with Bucket Seats).

RPO: Y-1 PAINT = Yellow "Crocus Yellow" — Top color code: 1 = White

ACC = Accessory line
When decoding ACC line on the Fisher body tags, be aware that body tags do not include any options that did not require any body modification be done by Fisher. Fisher was only concerned with items that required modifications during the assembly of the body. A good example is that you won’t find Telescopic column listed on the body tag. Although this is a major option, it did not require any special consideration during body assembly.

2MS4PU-
The Letters are listed in groups. Letters following a number are in that group.
1st Group
NONE

2nd Group
M = RPO M35 - Powerglide Automatic Transmission (Model 500 and Monza Only)
S = RPO U73 - Antenna, Radio, Rear Manual

3rd Group
NONE

4th Group
P = RPO Z01 - Comfort and Convenience Group (2 speed wipers, washers, day/night inside mirror, outside rear view mirror, backup lamp, glove box lamp)
U = RPO P19 - Spare Tire Lock

5th Group
NONE

Although you did not provide it, the VIN tag is located in the engine compartment, riveted to the perimeter frame, to the right of the battery. This guide will show you how to decode it...

Thanks, I meant body tag, not vin tag. With the info you gave me, I can decode the vin, thanks again. The car appears to need all original, one repaint, same color. It has a rear antenna, but it's vertical, rather than slanting rearward, so I wasn't sure that was stock.
Thanks again!
