Well, the truck sold.

Post by RAV_AIR »

Guy called me earlier today...was like 80 miles away and figured he'd probably buy it...showed up with his buddy, test drove it, offered me cash (for less than what I wanted) and I tried to talk him up but he wouldn't. so I said screw it, gimmie the cash.

so he drove off in it(after I took my crap out of it).

It was certainly an interesting experience... KC boys...they're a different breed! haha...

got the insurance OUT of my name and the title signed over and all that good stuff...

then realized I forgot to take my plates off. they go with the owner in this state, unlike MN.

argh!

I got a hold of him, and he's planning on getting me the plates back tomorrow, so I'm sure it's all good....I'm just paranoid about stuff like that, no matter who it is! I really don't wanna call the police cause I don't want the guy to have a big hassle over what will most likely be nothing. I'd hate to have that come back on me.

All you have to do is submit a Sold Notice (done online in AZ) and you are safe but you still want the plates back to apply to a new vehicle or get a refund on the registration balance.

it costs 10 bucks to submit the form and you have to do it in person.

quarter after three here and still nothing...we'll see.

It's odd how so many states do things differently. Up here in Alaska the plate stays with the car and the new owner gets any remaining time left before expiration.

There is also a perforated section on the title itself that you fill out and send to DMV to declare that you no longer own the car.

No safety or smog inspections and no notary public needs to sign the title. No property tax on cars either. Yet !

I sold the NOS plates below for over 3800 bucks on Ebay a few years back . I about pooped my pants when the bidding jumped up 2000 dollars in the last ten seconds of the auction
