That little basturd will pull hard for a 1.5L Must be the variable valve timing and decent redline. Had it up to 100mph two weekends ago, oops did I type that? That was fun. LOL

As a long time Toyota owner I am truly offended by how insensitive some of you are -

-- you'd think Toyotas were French built :rolling:

I watched the video and although the mower took off at least it did not rollover like a F*rd Exploder or catch fire like the Chevy pickups and Pintos.

Audi had a problem with sudden acceleration several years ago and I think radio frequency was blamed ???

I did get a notice from Toyota about removing my floor-mats until further notice but that is silly. I actually have 3 layers of floor mats and it's never affected the gas pedal.

I'm pretty sure the 14" disc brakes on my Tundra will stop it even if the throttle was stuck.

If they wanna recall my Tundra they should do it for the stupid windshield trough and wiper system :td:

I wanted to get one of those new Tundras when they came out, but NOBODY would take my Denali as a trade in. :td:

I remember smoking one of those in my 355 SBC power '89 S10. That was funny. Sitting at a light minding my own buisness, he must have heard my exhaust, reved his engine, I looked over at him and his woman looking at me, didnt do a thing. Light turned green He punched it, I punched it right after him and passed him after about 30-40 feet and then let off and rolled to the next light where he ended up right next to me again. He wouldnt look at me and his girlfriend was laughing.

Nice looking trucks though. He just didnt know what he was up againsnt. lol. SBC 355 9.5 to 1 compression, rv cam, edelbrock 600 carb, preformer rpm intake, shorty headers, full dual exhaust, 350 trans with a shift kit, 3.42 posi rear end. Tuned to run good. Miss that truck, and Im starting to think I need to keep a eye out for a solid S10 again, recently saw a 2dr 2wd jimmy sitting for 2 weeks, but Im in a good spot car wise, and need to finish up my bug, so not the right time. Love me some 1st gen S10's. Sorry to rant. lol.

Vanman - an S-10 with a built small block might beat a Tundra but if you ever got chained to one it would pull your S-10 around like it wasn't even there .

Many if not most of the Tundras have the 4.7 liter V8 . Others like mine have the 5.7 liter 4 cam motor with 381 Hp , a six speed automatic and 4.30 rear end. My truck does weigh about 5600 lbs which is a disadvantage in a drag race but even the 4x4 version like mine is supposed to clock the QTR in just a hair over 15 seconds flat.

I heard on the news that one lady said her little Totota accelerated to over 100 miles an hour on it's own ----

I wonder why it never occured to her to shut off the key ??????

I hope it does happen to my truck - I want a new blue one !

Here's a video of a stock truck like mine going from 0-115. Note how steady it climbs .

What am I missing ? :dontknow:

I saw the story on the news about the guy with the Toyota Prius who had his throttle stick on his car and he drove it for miles dodging traffic and his speed reached 90mph .

This idiot had time to call 911 on his cell phone and a trooper pulled up and instructed him to use the brakes.

Repeat - he called 911 while his throttle was stuck !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had throttles stick on all kinds of things from cars to boats to motorcycles over the last half century and my first reaction was to turn off the ignition.

Are there really people stupid enough to call 911 at 90 mph without even thinking about turning off the key or hitting neutral ? :dontknow:

Also I find it hard to believe that a Prius could even go 90 with the brakes on.

I think it's a plot by GM to try to get out of debt :rafman:

I don't doubt that there must be a problem with the throttles --- but Doh !
