Regarding the Citroen DS and ID cars, they are amazing in that they can achive 120 MPH with a 4 cyl engine made way back when. The hydro-pnumatic suspension was also used by Rolls Royce, under license, to level their cars in the 70s. These cars were first shown at the Paris auto show mounted on a post with finder skirts covering the wheel openings. They looked like space ships! Also, the doors don't have window frames, like the modern Subaru cars. Quite the thing for a car made in 1955 to supersede the Traction Advant, which was a marvel as well! If you are ever given a chance to ride in one do it. I don't understand the comment about "not having a brake pedal". Actually they did. They had some odd features; the steering wheel has only one spoke and the wheels have only one lug nut each, the jack is a pedestal, the wheels are raised hydraulically raised once the pedestal is in place, and the carpet is feather soft because of the padding. They are really neat cars.

Never owned a driven a Citroen so I did a quick search about the brake pedal

Now unsafe, doing light research on Citroens is healthy - but you you need to go beyond your preconceptions & ignorances. How many people do you meet that believe the myths about Corvairs?
