Hey gang just turned on tv and Home Improvement was on with Tim looking in junkyard when he finds his first car, which was EM corvair convertible. He later goes back and tries buying it but gets there just in time to see it become a pancake But just thought it was nice to see tv show focused on a corvair lol

I didn't see the episode that smashed the Corvair because I don't watch that show anymore, but I did see the one that smashed the (I think) 55 Nomad. It was actually just a shell that they cleaned up for the episode and was supposed to be a real junk. They apparently got a ton of mail about that one.

The car that got smashed was a 64 vert...Tim Taylor mentions it looks just like his first car...a 66 convertible... then he says it was his first car cause of the stickers in the windows! But, it is obviously not a 66 vert that gets the Binford treatment. Then Jill buys him a real 66 vert for the end of the show, which he makes her return. Guess they couldn't find a junk LM vert to crush in the early part of the show. Continuity error, anyone? BTW, it was season 8 episode 8, and will be airing on TBS at 7 AM Friday, 24 February EST / PST...set your DVR!!

I saw the one where they crushed the 55 Nomad. That was shocking. But I knew that Hollywood wouldn't crush a good Nomad. Had a 57 Nomad 40+ years ago. I think I really prefer the Vairs now.
