RE: petepatsy classified ads

Post by azdave »

Don't you hate it when someone joins the forum and then places four different "For Sale" ads without any sort of introduction?

petepatsy,
Who are you? What is your interest in Corvairs? Can anyone here vouch for you before we send money?

Craig's List and eBay are great sites if you only came here to sell and honestly...you'll get more for your items on ebay than you will here. As a buyer on ebay we would have some sort of protection that you aren't just posting photos of bogus items you don't really have to sell.

I hope you are a Corvair lover and came here to participate in the discussions and grow with this community.

Many forums have waiting periods that prevent a new member from placing classified ads until at least a three month period has passed. It helps keep out scammers and people who have no real interest in the forum (other than using it as a sales outlet since it has little or no protection for the buyer).

Scott/Admin: Feel free to edit or delete this if you feel I'm out of line here (I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking the same thing though).

2 more ads and still no introduction. This is just someone looking to move parts. I'm also see a petepatsy posting on an Oldsmobile forum doing the exact same thing.

Here's the PM I got back.
Sorry, about the intro. These are parts left from closed new car dealers in the state I am from Maine Where life should be is our slogan. The parts I have offered are much lower in price than e-bay or craigslist. I have been into cars for 40 years and have restored many. I am in hopes of being able to supply people here with parts at a reduced price. I am no longer able to restore cars. I do enjoy helping anyone who has a passion for restoring any type of old cars. I can and do sell on e-bay strarting in 1998 with 100 percent feedback. Thanks petepatsy
