Mr Trump

Unread post by Corvair88 » Wed Aug 23, 2017 12:04 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm a little curios as for what Corvair owners think of the relatively new president of the United states of America. Mr Donald J Trump.

As for myself I do not like rich people with inflated egos who only go for a prize because it is shiny.

Best regards from over the pond :neener:

We had a great rule while I was in the Navy. Never talk about religion, politics or women. There is no winning sides and only leads to augments. That said the people have spoken and I will respect him like the other 44 Commander in Chief's before him, no matter what I think personally.

Your right, it's not a politics site and it is never never good idea to bring up :banghead:

It's just so hard for non americans to grasp I guess! But it does make really great entertainment listening to someone that totally knows how to run a country :rolling:

It's like watching one of my favourite films:

Holy hell! When Obama was president there was nothing but bs on here about him. All politicians are idiots so give equal time for the newest idiot. Our new " leader" is a moron. Hopefully the worst he will do is sign the tax bill and not get us into another war we can't win...

Funny, I thought this was the off topic portion of the forum where politics is accepted. :dontknow:

Trump is a d-bag like all politicians and his tax plan will hurt me enough so that I can't fix
My corvair problems. See, it's all related.

Nobody wants to even give him a chance, He is trying to fulfill his campaign promises, no matter how ludicrous they were. But, ya gotta think, THAT'S what got him elected. Joe six-pack said "Hell Yeah! If he can do this then I'M gonna go out and vote this year!"
America was too smug thinking Hillary was a shoe-in...

Agreed. Last nights passing of the tax bill may very well spell doom for some though. But then again we can just go backwards on that in the next cycle I guess. As long as they are on two different pages joe six pack and every elitist fool will suffer. Face it none of these people give a crap about us.

There should only one tax rate, everyone should be taxed at the same percentage. Just because someone makes more money doesn't give the government the right to make them pay more.

But a flat tax would take away from Congress the ability to influence American society and our economy, culture, etc. through tax law manipulation. Washington would never go for that, any more than they would agree to term limits for members of Congress! :td:

We need to elect more average Joe's to eliminate most of these outdated taxes. I knew about the Spanish American War tax on the telephone, what are they doing with the money? If we could get rid of some of these taxes I could buy more Corvair parts or another Corvair. Show me a politician & i'll show you a crook.

Ever heard of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Flood of 1936? This is an example of what can happen as money-hungry legislators find reasons to tax. The tax has never been repealed.
The Pennsylvania General Assembly passed an emergency temporary 10% alcohol tax, intended to help with clean up, recovery, and to assist flood victims. In 1963 it was raised to 15% and in 1968 it was raised to 18%

Tax controversy.

By 1942 around $41 million had been collected and as of 2010 the tax was still active bringing in approximately $15.4 billion since inception. Efforts to repeal the tax has met continued opposition from opponents, such as unions workers employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, that have successfully fought to keep the tax and prevent the privatizing of the state run liquor business.

Term limits, especially on the senate, would solve so many problems for us as Americans. So many.
