Show Us Your Prep For Next Months 2025 CORSA Convention

Post by Phil Dally »

New torque arm bushings and a Clark's rear sway bar.

Mono-Balls are gone to stay in IS-2...plus hated them.

Lots of new rubber in the whole car from CA Corvair.

New gas charged shocks front and rear from Clark's.

Lock to lock is now 3 1/4 from 4 1/2 with QS arms.

I'll give it as much negative caster as machine can.

Life has been in session for the last seven months.

My motor stays same (95/PG) no turbo as planned.

But it should go around corners pretty darn good!!

Being metal on metal they go clunk clunk every time you roll over any bump in the road.

The car came with them so I don't know if that is normal but it was driving Winston crazy.

Plus the Mono-Balls would have bumped me into the Modified Classes and this car would not be competitive there.

With me driving it wouldn't be competitive anywhere so I have a known expert secret weapon to podium the team.

I've done (or still doing), new interior paint, stereo upgrades, new brake hard lines, new wheel cylinders, new hoses, new shoes, new gauges, new car play system with dash cam, parking sentry, blind spot monitoring, front and rear cameras and new (to me) seats.

I also rewired the whole back half of the car. I needed to ad sensors for the new oil pressure and oil temperature gauges. I wanted to hide the wiring. Now all you can see is a short run of wires to the alternator and another short run of wires to the taillights. :tu:

Seeing everyone's progress makes me jealous!

I painted my body Wednesday last week. Doing hinges, hardware and doors, cove, dash, and grill pockets this week and trunk lid, engine lid and grills, and remaining interior surfaces next week, and praying like hell the flake lays out perfect and I dont have any mistakes as I am cutting it way too close for comfort.

At this point I probably won't relax until the car is loaded and we are on the road

No prep. This will be our first CORSA convention ever but not taking a Corvair. We decided to work as volunteers so Cathy and I signed up to help at registration, the hospitality room and the road rally. The only event we signed up for is the Hearst Castle tour on Wednesday. This will be a wedding anniversary getaway too so we'll probably drive out to Morro Bay at some point. Neither of us have been in the SLO area before so it will all be new.

As a convention committee member I can officially say we really appreciate you two volunteering for all of that.

There will be two different printed directions available for a self guided drive to Morro Bay and Avila Beach Pier.
