Today I drove my Corvair to the store an on the way home, was amazed at seeing how someone managed to hit a fire hydrant. I mean she is on the wrong side of the road....actually off of the road. Notice none of the cones are down. At least her engine is going to be nice and clean.

I saw this on Facebook and wanted others to see it! My parents taught me to drive in 1968 in their 1965 Corvair Corsa convertible, and I took my initial behind the wheel driver's test in California in January 1969 (after I reached age 16) in that same Corvair... so I can definitely relate to the photographic experience in a Corvair convertible as related below! ::-):

My father and me (age 12) — in 1965 at an air show at Edwards AFB, California — four years before I took my driver's license test in that same Corvair.

Winter project roadworthy enough to take advantage of a sunny day. Oil leaks fixed and valves adjusted just in time. Found this old gas station on a backroad outside Monroe Oregon.

Nice car! What wheels and tires are on it and do you have any clearance issues?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary,
Wheels are 15 x 6 American Racing torque thrust VN105. Tires are 205 50 15 Yokohama Advan Flava V701. No clearance issues at all. Very close to stock diameter so no speedometer error either.
Cheers,
Don
