Today I drove my Corvair to...
Re: Today I drove my Corvair to...
Neat little 2 hour (4-6pm) car show (cruise in) at a local gas station. They have it 2 times a year. The local oldies radio station comes out and plays some tunes.
One thing I have noticed - when people walk around my car they stop at the engine compartment and really stare at the 140 (4 carb)
Now next year how will this photo of the gas prices compare

Took the "new" Monza out today for a drive in northern Arizona. Went up to the ski area (snowbowl) to check out the fall colors and enjoy the 55 degree fall weather. Parked the car at the 9200 foot elevation, car ran excellent all day long, no problems up here at all. At 9000 feet the 102 HP engine is putting out just 60 HP!! This new "Lambrecht" car continues to amaze me. I have now owned her for over a year and been driving her for 8 months with absolutely no issues. Everyone that see's this car just loves it. Note the window sticker and shipping label still attached. Good day, pete

I find it interesting you get covered parking. Is that a California norm?
Good pic!

No, not at all......but check it out......this whole roof setup is comprised of solar panels! So, it generates quite a bit of electricity for our company. They may even be selling some of it back to the power company. I don't leave my corvair out in the sun anyway, not even with one of those reflective sun shades.

Just sitting here being jealous of everyone's drivable cars...*sigh*. And then I noticed...Skrain wrote:A nice charity Car Show in Berea, Ky. to benefit the Berea Volunteer Fire Department. Everyone who entered received an appreciation trophy and dash plaque.
First time I've taken Scooty Puff out on the Interstate. She was fine, even at 70 on some rolling hills.
Skrain..."Scooty Puff"???

Re: Today I drove my Corvair to...
I finally got the bugs out after my 5 month downtime and decided to cruise around the area to check for kinks.
It was a great ride. The car ran great and, of course, several people loved the car. I'm glad to be back on the road.1961 Monza

Last weekend, before the weather turned cold, Joey and I took a road trip out to Mineral Wells, TX to go see the old abandoned hotel. It was a fun trip on some back roads and was a cool old hotel.

I drive my 65 Monza to work once a week. Its about 50 miles round trip - mostly freeway. Its the highlight of my week. If I get there early, the upper floors of the parking garage provide fewer opportunities for door dings.

Re: Today I drove my Corvair to...
Drove my Corvair today, it was a cold day but it started right up with a lifter clicking but that only lasted until it warmed up a bit. It's now 3 degrees in Kalamazoo & was 5 when I went for a ride with a wind chill at 10 below. The heater warmed the inside real nice. Only went 25 miles. Sure was good to get out after being down with the Flu for 2 weeks.
