Here is a very rare recent find . This is the Internet premiere
It is dated 1959 and is about the development of the Corvair .
It starts out kinda slow but picks up and includes factory assembly and testing footage .
Be sure to give the guy a big thumbs up
Much more coming soon !

Re: CASE OF THE METHODICAL MEN - MUST SEE VINTAGE VIDEO !
That was an impressive Corvair developmental video. I wonder who the 1959 intended target audience was. The film did a pretty good job of arguing for the rear-engine design and let the audience get a feel for what goes into engineering, designing, and developing a series of prototypes for testing, and then the extensive testing involved before it is ever released for production.
In spite of all of the testing and careful development involved, the test of time showed that some problems still made it into production, with some significant engineering changes having to be phased in to the Corvair after production started with the 1960 model — as seen in the 1961 Corvair and then into the 1962 model year. The engineers kept quite busy during those years, and introduced the innovative turbocharged Spyder as well. Plus they added the Lakewood wagon, Corvair 95 utility van and Greenbrier, Loadside and Rampside!
Somewhere along the line decent rubber o-rings were discovered too!
... amazing how such a little thing like a rubber o-ring could give the Corvair a reputation for being a smelly, oil-leaking car with a dirty rear-end! But even methodical men can miss a few things.
And then, in 1965, the GM team proved again that they were not just sitting on their hands. Innovative engineering and design continued and peaked in 1965-1966. Then the Methodical Men were put out to pasture, and the Marketing Men and dreaded Beancounters invaded and took over... and the days of the innovative Corvair were numbered at GM.
Thanks for finding and releasing this unique video!
