Also, I did install a plug in the bottom of the tank.
Whats the resistance value of the pot on the sending unit. Mine seems erratic and I'd like to replace just the resistor. I don't need (or want) a 55 dollar unit replacement, do I?

the sending unit is not available as a replalacable unit. try to clean it with brake cleaner. often that works. if you do re-use it. replace the filter sock. they are suposed to just press on but i have had them fall off. i use a small finger wipe of jb weld to secure them. jb weld does not get eaten by the fuel.

Plenty of replacement senders available. I just ordered this one for $34 with free shipping (important these days): https://www.ebay.com/itm/362969667238 I haven't dropped my tank yet, but I was originally planning to reuse the original sender. That would be minimum $14 for a new sock/strainer and $5 for the seal & lock ring, and so for barely twice as much I get all that included with a new sender, seems like a no-brainer.

WM.com sells a tank strap for $15: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Agility-Fuel ... /680296874

I got a quart of Red Kote for my tank. Anyone here use that and care to comment?

My sender arrived today from ebay seller vans auto. Well packed in the box, lots of crumpled newspaper for padding. It looks great, exactly like their photo, and came with a new strainer/filter, lock ring and rubber gasket. I bench tested the resistance and got good values, empty was 0 ohms and full was 85 ohms, so I'd say it's a keeper. Nowhere near ready to install it though, so I can't comment on actual function yet.
