fc front end rebuild

Post by 58binz »

I am planning on rebuilding my 61 Corvan front end. Does anyone know any upgrades like better ball joints or bushings, sway bars, heavier springs, spring insulators and who would carry the parts. Any info would be much appreciated.

The original
Design parts only lasted
50+- years with some
Repairs
And regular use. I wouldn’t sweat I too much

Check the "Corvanatics" site. I recall there were two different front end designs. One was full sized Chevy wagon, the other based on 1/2 ton pickup IFS. Parts for either should be available.

Many cut a spring coil to lower the FC's all around. Stiffer ride, but better handling and reduces the rear positive camber common with good springs to neutral to negative. No I have not done it - just ridden in a few.
