Clark's Padded Dash

Post by wbabst »

I am curious, if anyone has purchased and installed a padded dash from Clark's for an early model. If you have, how did the installation go? How would you judge the overall appearance of it once done. Any information and pictures would be greatly appreciated. I like the metal dash but am thinking of going back to what was originally in the car, which was the padded dash. Thanks in advance to all those who answer.

Looks great when installed well. Must be very careful during install in both trimming and gluing down. Good contact cement is unforgiving so when you put it in place it really NEEDS to be in THE RIGHT SPOT. This can be done with the windshield in place but it is ALOT easier with the windshield removed.

At the moment I have the windshield out for painting, and will have to make up my mind. I have not plugged the holes yet for the speaker bezel I like the padded dash if its right, a bad padded dash just ruins the interior. I have a month or so to make up my mind, I know I like the painted dash and am safe with that. Maybe I should flip a coin.

The repro pad is excellent quality. You will need a speaker bezel to go along with the pad as the indent for the speaker grille area is molded into the pad.
