Cooling System Flow

Post by troop60 »

Hello,Thanks for adding me. I'm thinking of buying my neighbors '60 700 4 door sedan. I know little about them and am curious how the cooling system works. I know its forced air cooled but not sure how the air gets to the fan. Are there air inlets @ the front of the car? Are the louvers on the dick lid vents or air intakes? My neighbor has owned the car many years but has little technical info on it. Thanks for any info.

louvers on the dick lid
Goes in the top and out the back.
The '60 is unique in that it has a thermostatically controlled ring the cuts off air to the fan. Later models have thermostatically controlled air exit doors.
