To Many Requests

Post by caraholic4life »

Today something new has happened that has me a bit confused.

I logged on after work as is my habit and began looking at recent posts.

After attempting to look at a third topic after about three to five minutes being logged on the site, I got the following message.

I waited a moment and got the same message multiple times within a ten minute span of time....WTF... :dontknow:

I thought the issue may have been something related to my "Wonderful" Internet Provider but it appears the message was generated by the forum as there was an indication of this at the bottom of the page.

Any ideas?

Yesterday I posted a reply on this thread that explained I had spent about an hour attempting to attach a screenshot of the To Many Requests responses I was getting and edit some of the initial post without success.

I had also relied to another topic as well as this one. I had finally been successful to add attachments and edit as needed. Once posted, I was able to see them on the forum but a few hours later both were gone as if I didn't post them. I even did a search for posts by myself for the past day and came up with a Zero result.

I can only imagine the headaches that Scott deals with as related to keeping this forum up and running as well as it does.....THANK YOU Scott for all you do!

That could be from us updating the site yesterday. You could have posted while the update was being done.
I don't delete posts here unless its necessary. That is a very, very, rare occurrence.

UPDATE:
I've gone in and removed everyone's permissions that were helping me moderate the site. Myself and the firm I hired to help with software updates are THE ONLY members with the ability to delete anything now.

Thanks Scott -- I think you've fixed the problem.

I have had no problems with too many requests yesterday. However I seem to be experiencing the same symptoms again today. Has anyone else started having problems again today?

It took four attempts to log-in just to let everyone know the cootie has returned with a vengeance. Even to view without logging-in is a bear. Same problem as before.

Yes, same symptoms. Too Many Requests.

I have to refresh the topic repeatedly to get the normal response.

Further investigation revealed lots of site activity coming from foreign countries. Mainly Singapore. I have banned that entire country and many more. Hopefully that stops it.
