taillights explained

Post by Scott H »

The red and colorless taillights are pretty self explanatory but I'll go over them anyway. Basically the red taillights are topics or forums with new posts that you have not read and the colorless taillights are topics you have already read.

Now with that bit of info in mind you have an option available to you. If you find it overwhelming to view everything in order to get those taillights to go out you can click on Mark forums read and all of the taillights will go out. Then the next time you visit you'll see only the newest posts that have arrived since you were here last marked by a red taillight.

Help Scott,
I got off into what I think is the old look somehow(that doesn't have the tail lights) and I can't get back. I like the new version better. How do I switch back?

Go to the portal page and on the left hand side you can choose the "Board Style". You can also set your board preference in the "user control panel" which will be a more permanent setting. The taillights are only on the style called prosilver now. The new style works just the same as the old one. The buttons that are colored are new posts and the buttons without color are posts you have read.
