1968 Corvair Monza Road Test #1

Post by UNSAFE »

Car Life from Jan 1968.
The 140 HP Vair that they tested ran so bad that they received hundreds of letters from Corvair fans demanding a retest. It was retested and deemed a better car in a later issue. I'll post the retest when I find it.

I just read this article on my Blackberry while sitting in the lobby of a tire shop waiting for tires to be put on my wifes car. While that is a testimony to technology, the greater thing than that is the fact that UNSAFE has taken the time and expense to collect this memorabilia, and also taken the time to scan and post it here for everyone to enjoy. Thank you Kevin!

There seems to be a page missing from the article, though.

Thanx for the great article Unsafe. Its pretty cool to read these test drive articles which were administered when our cars were new. I was surprized how adamant the authour was about keeping the corvair alive. Imagine if some of his suggestions were actually carried out by GM, especially engine development and larger displacement....... :goodpost:
