Anyone have any experience fitting new speakers in front kick panels in LM

Check out the posts on page 5 in this thread on Cover Center Forum. One of my club members is building the car and has done just that. http://corvaircenter.com/phorum/read.php?1,991616
Corvair guy since 1982. I have personally restored at least 20 Vairs, many of them restored ground up.
Currently working full time repairing Corvairs and restoring old cars.

Fitted new Pioneer 4x6 speakers to the fresh air vents that I had previously sealed.

Originally purchased a pair of very nice Kicker 6x9 3-way speakers but they were too large and would not fit.

Although the Pioneer speakers are smaller they still have very good sound.

I cut some rigid plastic sheet (the lid from a storage container) and cut out the oval shape of the speaker to create a sound enclosure by gluing the plastic to the vent body then added two rivnuts to allow the easy removal of the speakers.

As you can see, I have yet to clean and finish the kick panels....uncertain whether they will get painted or covered with carpet or vinyl...

I removed the kick panels and used rigid plastic and glued it to the back side to seal them:
