Dave,

Thanks for the comprehensive review and evaluation of these pumps, it is very much appreciated. :tu:

It appears that just maybe, the additional wait time will be justified and these pumps will function well.

I have only one of the four I ordered through the Corvair Ranch back when they were initially announced.
It should be coming to me when their order arrives.

I installed the new pump on our 64 Greenbrier today and put about 10 miles on the pump. The instructions are fairly detailed about which pump rod to use and show how to check to be certain which one you have. This pump can only use the most common pump rod out there, which is the 62-69 version I show in the photo below.

I measured 7 psi at both cold and warm engine conditions. No issues so far. I expect to run the pump a few more days and then take it apart again to observe if there are any changes to the rubber parts.

Craig replies: Wow, 7 PSI. That's well above the specified 4 to 5 PSI. I wonder if that will settle down after some use?

I believe the pressure will drop a bit but only time will tell. I trust the accuracy of the gauge as it was calibrated not that long ago to a mercury sphygmomanometer. I'll keep an eye on it. If needed, at least my adjustable fuel pressure mod would work on these new pumps the same as it did on the old ones.
