Doesn't seem like a bad price for someone and two engines... (condition unknown)... If I were closer I'd go check it out...

1st one - 65 Monza Vert with power top and 110 with a 4 spd. Was a bit dilapidated but fun, 2nd was a 1965 Corvair Monza Convertible. PG - 1960 or 61 or 63 80 hp engine - we think...

I thought this one looked pretty desirable, although I can't tell if there's a rust situation.......still seems decent to me. Nothing like seeing an untouched 140 right down to the stock air cleaner.

1966 Corvair coupe 4 speed 140 HP 4 carburetor Black plates - $1966 (Fallbrook)

http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/5291529286.html
Fresh from a 10 year storage 4 carb 4 speed Corvair coupe. Carburetors were rebuilt prior to storage and included new bushings for all carburetors, motor rebuilt with aprox 10k miles with an upgraded cam also, electronic ignition and MSD coil. Parts were bought from Clarks Corvair

Engine spins free with compression, carbs are new inside, brake pedal is up, tire tread is like new but am sure tires should be replaced on the 15 inch American racing wheels.

Rebuilt front suspension

Car is rusty but repairable, clean title in hand ready to sell, price reflects current condition and will begin work shortly to make her run and price will be adjusted accordingly as money and time is spent,
engine parts are worth more than the asking price now not to mention the perfect front bucket seats.

Probably not a bad deal but I wouldn't call it untouched. Engines been rebuilt, electronic ignition in use, electric fuel pump added, etc. If it's been in Cali all the time I agree it's probably a great deal.

True. You're right. I actually should've used the word "intact". It appears to be totally intact with all the 140-specific parts and shrouding.......and even I can't prove that from just looking at the photo.

1965 Corvair in the East Bay, CA. Seller calls it a 500 but looks like Corsa with a 4 speed and an intriguing deck lid. I've emailed the seller but I'm all the way down in Los Angeles. Best of luck to you if you live nearby. Might be worth taking a look.

1965 Corvair 500 for Sale or Trade - must sell - $4000 (hercules, pinole, san pablo, el sob)

Selling corvair 500 had lots of fun with it, nice car. I am asking for 4000 cash is worth more, but since I am busy with work it is been seating undriven for a while. Registration through 2016 has been paid for and new battery was just installed. Very well taken care of, minor rust, only about 10k miles after engine rebuild. Bench seat, complete interior, just needs carpet and paint is in decent condition.Cash talks/no joy rides. Car doesn't get driven much, and I don't want it to sit at my parents house anymore. Would be interested in other fun cars and projects. Willing to put cash on top for a trade.

Gee, corvair deals out there never cease to amaze me........just the fact that this one has new paint and a lot of other new parts, black plates and has obviously had some TLC given to it, not to mention factory A/C.

I decided to make the call and talk to the guy. He said he purchased it out of New Jersey from the builders son. It was suppose to run and drive but didn't. The brakes were locked up and gas was rotten. He got it to run, drive, and stop. He says the brakes need a little bit of work still. He had the lacquer paint buffed and put a pair of tires on it. I'm planning on looking at it next Wednesday night just to kick the tires. I think he is a little steep on the price but it is an interesting car. After talking to him on the phone, I got the impression that the car may have been a show car and not a daily driver. I will update soon.
