That looks like a $2500-$3000 Vair to me just from the few pictures.

My thoughts exactly. There were no pictures in the ad........those were emailed to me by the poster.

This seems like a decent deal. They don't post pics of the vert - but for all you get could be a smokin' deal!

A 140 automatic monza for $1200.......somewhat smokin' of a deal. At least it looks pretty untouched with the original radio, steering wheel and all. Can't tell how crispy the floor are from here, but the windshield area might just be decent. It's just nice to see a 140 that's actually in an engine compartment and all hooked up, not sitting on a garage floor for once. ::-): They ARE getting rare!

WHOA! This corsa is just amazing for $2K........completely rebuilt 140 with new valves etc., AND an extra 140 and transaxle?! Somebody's gotta call in sick for work tomorrow! (not me)

http://slo.craigslist.org/cto/5020504289.html

For Sale, 1965 Corvair Corsa 140HP Coupe 4-speed Posi project car. Recent back injury and surgery prevent my continuing this project. Motor has many new parts, including new OEM pistons, cylinders and hydraulic lifters. Heads were completely gone through professionally with new valves, bronze guides and rocker balls. Carbs were gone through with kits. Motor is in car, but has not been completely hooked up and run since rework. There are also many extra parts, including a spare 4-speed transaxle, an additional 140 motor in pieces, misc. wheel cylinder kits, gaskets bearings, etc. Car is basically solid with one notable area of rust at the base of both A pillars. Rockers, trunk and floorboards look good. Car is currently non-op status. Asking $2000 OBO 805-489-44 eight six.

Re: Smokin' Deals! Ultra Clean 1966 500 Sedan w/140 hp & A/C

Post by bbodie52 »

This appears to be a very clean 1966 air conditioned Corvair 140 hp 500 sedan. The timing is wrong, but if I had the cash I believe I would snap this up in a heartbeat!

Located in El Cajon, California

THIS IS RARE RARE RARE CORVAIR! NO RESERVE AUCTION !!!!

BOUGHT THIS WELL KEPT CAR WITH THE INTENTION OF PULLING THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION AND PUTTING IN MY TWO DOOR COUPE.

ONCE CHECKING THE CAR OUT AND DRIVING IT I JUST CAN'T SEE MYSELF DESTROYING THE CAR FOR A MOTOR AND TRANS. I WILL FIND ANOTHER ONE. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN AND SAVED!

GOT ALL WIRING WORKING NOW, BLINKERS, LIGHTS, EVEN THE REAR DECK LIGHTING WORKS NOW! GAS GAUGE, MPH. ODOMETER ALL WORK. H4 HEADLIGHT CONVERSION.

ALL A/C PARTS, WIRING, DASH KNOBS ARE THERE AND THE COMPRESSOR SPINS FREE. BELT IS OFF BUT WILL BE INCLUDED. HOSES ALL LOOK GOOD.

WHEELS ARE CRAGARS AND TIRES ARE IN GREAT SHAPE. OTHER THAN THE PAINT HAVING A FEW SPOTS WHERE CLEAR COAT HAS PEELED OFF AND A FEW SMALL RUST SPOTS ONE DOOR THE PAINT IS REAL NICE.

BEING WHITE IT HIDES A LOT. CLEARLY A GREAT CRUISE NIGHT PAINT JOB.

A/C WAS A FACTORY OPTION IN ONLY 4% OF 65-67 CORVAIRS. I WAS TOLD BY A CORVAIR GURU HERE IN SO CAL THAT THE A/C PARTS ARE WORTH MORE THAN THE CAR ITSELF.

MOTOR RUNS GREAT. POWERGLIDE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PERFECT AND SMOOTH. NO SUDDEN JUMPING IN/OUT OF GEARS LIKE MANY CORVAIR TRANSMISSIONS.

AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR A FEW HOURS I GOT SO MANY COMPLIMENTS AND THUMBS UP BY TOTAL STRANGERS. AT THE GAS STATION I MUST HAVE BEEN THERE FOR 20 MINUTES TALKING TO PEOPLE.

IT IS A FOUR DOOR BUT THE STANCE IS ONE OF A KIND. IT SCREAMS OF COOLNESS AND CAN'T WAIT FOR IT'S NEW HOME.

I HAVE VIDEOS UP ON YOUTUBE OF THE CAR HOW IT SOUNDS AND DRIVES. I WILL ALSO DO A COMPLETE WALK AROUND VIDEO THIS WEEKEND.

THIS WILL GO TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER OVER $4999 OR A BUY IT NOW OF $7000

I AM GOING TO LIST LOCALLY SO IF I GET NO BIDS I WILL CANCEL THIS AUCTION. FEEL FREE TO COME CHECK OUT THE CAR ANYTIME. I AM IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.

Here's a link to pair of Corvairs down in Central IL - I thought I had posted them last year - but I can't find the original post. The family that owns them are very nice. The cars were the wife's father's cars from his collection (originally 11). These were what they had after he passed. I looked at them last year and took some pictures. You can see them here: https://goo.gl/photos/SbrAaj767xUvyfQaA.

Both are pretty solid cars from what I saw - the 63 is pretty cool actually for what it is. The 62 was supposedly ran last year. They've both been in the building you see them in for several years. Originally were FL cars. Rust is pretty minimal from what I remember. I really would like both or just the 63 but money right now, and space aren't, cooperating! Figured I'd post it up here so someone can hopefully give them a new home.

If this thing is rust-free (claims it has been under a cover) and the paint is 1/2 decent, I seriously don't see how anyone could go wrong. A lot of new trim and goodies still in the wrapper?!

1968 Chevrolet Corvair convertible - $1000 (Orange)

This 1968 Corvair was being driven until 1980 when it was parked and hasn't been driven or registered since then. It was repainted in 1980 just before being parked. The lights, moldings and bumpers were removed and never put back on. They are in the car along with new original GM moldings still in the wrapper. It has been under cover. Body is free of dents or scratches except for one scratch on right rear fender. I will be available to show it on June 27 in Orange. $1,000 OBO.
