Selling my 64 Monza PG - $4500 OBO

Unread post by joefarmer » Mon Nov 06, 2017 10:04 am

Time to move on to the next project.... out of time and money on this one.

Selling my 1964 Corvair Monza w/ powerglide automatic transmission and 110hp boxer-type engine. Clean and clear Texas title in my own name. Purchased this as a restoration project and am now moving on to the next project in line. This car will crank right up, drive, and stop like it should. 95% of the way there for a restored classic or even a daily driver. Asking $4500 or best offer. Have over $2500 in receipts from Clark's corvair in replacement parts as well as original shop manual and owners manual (just like what the dealer would have).

The Good:

Complete rebuild on engine and transmission (can provide receipts and pictures)
New mains, rods, rings, all new gaskets and seals, valve job, and so on...
Complete clean on the crankcase and honed cylinders but not bored out - all within original specs
New studs where needed from crankcase to headbolts
New clutch packs, orings, seals for the transmission
New brake system all the way through: master cylinder, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, clean lines, etc
Restored engine bay (Painted original flat black)
New battery
New wiring where needed (everything electrical works fine)
Two freshly rebuilt rochester carbs
Tires are almost brand new
Trim looks good
Radio has been rebuilt by a professional (can show that it works)
All dash / instrument cluster works great
Doors / windows, hood, and trunk lid all operate smoothly and tight. Just like it came from the factory
Interior is 100% original - headliner is almost perfect
Weatherstripping looks great

The Bad:
No reverse - cable still needs to be adjusted
Carbs need to be fine-tuned
Radio speaker is busted
Generator is weak - needs rebuilding
Small leak from the differential when sitting for more than a week or so
Painted with flat sheen, not original paint code
Seats are original, and front two will need to be redone

Thanks Bobby doe. You need an early model to go along with your 1969!
