No VIN provided in the listing.

This 1964 Corvair looks like it is fitted with a 1962 145 CI engine.
  • 1962-1963 cooling fan instead of the expected magnesium cast fan
  • 1960-1963 (stamped steel riveted crankshaft pulley instead of the expected harmonic balancer or cast crankshaft pulley)
  • Automatic choke from 1962 or later engine
  • No Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system, indicating a probable 1962 road draft tube
  • 1962 or later distributor design
  • 1961-1963 air cleaner instead of the center-mount 1964-1969 design

The rear lens I did replace .one original lens broke and I found the 64 lens and the air cleaner off a 63 pats car most of the air cleaner was missing when I got the car. I will post a pic of the vin this evening
didn't know anything about a engine change but figured it had been taken out since the skirting was missing. But it's a solid car
thanks for your input . I'm hoping it was to be helpiful. I'm sure a lot of the cars are not all original parts

I simply wanted to point out the engine discrepancies to you and to potential buyers. There is a significant difference between a 1962 145 CI engine and a 1964 164 CI engine. The engine serial number (to the right of the generator) and the cylinder head casting numbers would confirm the nature of the engine. After more than 50 years an all-original car is becoming pretty rare.

Examples...
