Not mine
Listed on Corvair Trader on Facebook.
Probably built in May 14.
Not in the 69 roster, so another 69 survivor.

Listed at $3000.
Located in Texas.
“Survivor” as not crushed yet.
Doesn’t look it’s in running condition but I hope someone can save it.
Too far for me.

It looks like an 11 hour plus trip for me. Someone in Amarillo, west Oklahoma or even New Mexico, Colorado or Kansas could be closer.
If it was in better condition I would be more tempted.

Re: 69 #5991 FS
I purchased #5991. I had been looking for a 69 project that was built in the second half of production with a 4 speed and in a color we would enjoy. I flew to TX and drove up to inspect the car to see if it was what the ad said it was and if it was worth the time and money to restore. A couple weeks later we drove to TX and brought it home. I am the third owner. The car is solid, it has been stripped of paint and had professional rust repair almost completed. The interior is complete except for the bucket seats. The original motor is gone. It runs and drives but needs work to get on the road. The plan is to restore it to its former beauty. The car is a Monza, forest green, black interior, 110hp, 4 speed, posi, remote mirror, mag hub caps with a few other options. I am looking for the original motor and any additional information on the car. ![Image]()

Nice someone saved it.
A fellow in the local club purchased a 69 low mileage car (all original except for a simple color coat paint job) he bought off the original owner. Yup green with a green interior like many 69's.
Unfortunately while at a shop for oil seals it was STOLEN and chopped up for parts!!!!! He only recovered side window glass (he saw an ad with green paint over spray on glass) and floor pan after the "police" took days to get around to raiding the chop shop!!!!!
Nice your car had the black interior. Good luck with finishing it up!

Worse yet was the thief was a known Corvair guy! He probably was behind a 64 Spyder being stolen from in front of California Corvair Parts (IIRC, been 15 year or so) (owner was an employee working there at the time, drove it to work that day)
99% of Corvair people are great, the other 1% show their bad side from time to time, just like most any group.
