Just A Reminder!

Post by Phil Dally »

We will NOT have the racecar ready for the first SCTA event May 15/16.

Wont be ready until the second half...likely the October 24 event.

If anybody was planning to show...we'll be there Saturday 5-15 for 7AM drivers meeting.

Always got to kick tires and tell lies until the car is ready.

If you have not been to a Landspeed event...it will blow your mind!!!

I'm gonna put the October event on our Clubs calendar.

Not having been to one before, is it something we would or wouldn't want to drive our Corvairs too?

Make it the November 13/14 event...gives me another month and you can choose Sat or Sun.

And GWFBT&SM is the following weekend in October...that is kinda close schedule wise.

It is an extremely dusty affair...and you would want to tell that to everybody first.

The dust is a fine silt that washes off easily with a power washer...but it gets everywhere.

I would suggest some kind of a common meet point and a carpool thing.

Maybe a member or two have vans they could volunteer...the club could pay to have them cleaned.

If you pick the Sat Nov 13 you could rent vans and make the rental joint (Victorville) the meet point.

Leave as soon as you rent and be back in time for the return...only one day of rental.

Only catch with rentals is someone has to put up a credit card...does the club have a credit card?

Check with CORSA on insuring the vans...as you can see I've done something like this before.

But then who knows with these Corvair people...they might just drive right out there.
