Lap times from our event at New York Safety Track are posted on the NECC Motorsports website at:

We would have liked more drivers to sign up for this event, but in all other respects, the event was an outstanding success. Like Lime Rock, the track isn't too hard to drive but it takes a bunch of laps to drive really fast. The day began at 7:00 AM with fog and drizzle, but the sun came out at 9:00 AM and the first group of cars was on the track by 9:30. By mid-morning, there wasn't a cloud in the sky and temperature was in the mid-70s.

Entrants ranged from a lowly 105 hp Toyota Yaris to a 510 hp Mercedes AMG-GT. Other entrants included a 1984 Maserati Bi Turbo, a 2008 Lotus Exige, a turbocharged Chevrolet Chevette, a 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S, a 1975 MG 1500, a 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6, and an assortment of Corvairs.

The owner of the track, his sons and his wife-- she ran the snack bar-- were just great people. During lunch hour, the older son offered the drivers a ride around the track. We all piled into an open trailer that was towed by his brother's pickup truck. At each corner, the younger brother stopped the truck while the older brother described the turn-in point, the apex, and tips for setting up for the next corner. It was a nice gesture and the advice was useful for improving lap times during the afternoon.

As in many of our events, several drivers commented that they more than enough track time. They were exhausted but very, very happy. ::-):
