Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month March 2015
Here is my ’64 Vert. I purchased it three years ago with 29,000 original miles. It is unrestored with original interior. It had a re-spray some time in the 80’s. I had to sort out some bits and pieces and added the dual exhaust. Otherwise I’ve been just driving and enjoying it. I have the original wire wheel covers, but I like the look of the ’65 wheel covers. Best of all, it was a southern car and it has no rust. It’s been a great car to own and drive.

Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month March 2015
My 1967 Corvair Monza Restored about 5 years ago. I did much of the work myself, except for paint. For a N.J. car, amazing to find no rust when media blasted.Took 1 1/2 years to restore. Repainted correct Bolero red paint. All trim replaced with NOS when I could find it. Otherwise repro parts. Front grill bar is NOS, as well as door sill plates, radio bezel, parking lights, and rear grill inserts (correct for Corsa, not Monza). Had the headlight bezels chromed. Rechromed both bumpers, shifter bezel, heater control trim, quarter window trim, rear view mirror mount. Upper vent window castings ,vent window frame, and engine lid support rod were also chromed. Most of the 110 engine parts were either chromed or rechromed, including valve covers, alternator, engine shroud, firewall, crossover tube and air cleaner. Rebuilt carbs as well. All original interior, except for new carpet from Clark's Corvair. Audio system is secret audio under dash. Rear speakers are 6X9 pioneers installed in a custom made rear shelf. Powered Boss subwoofer behind passenger seat. Removed exhaust system and installed Clark's ultimate exhaust. Replaced original steering wheel with the correct wood style from Grant steering wheels. Added front disc brakes and 14" American Racing Torque Thrust chrome wheels. I hand painted the Rat Fink face on the chrome oil filter cover. Only had one owner and 50,000 original miles. All manuals and protecto plate were with the car. Drives great, brings back great memories for me, and always turns heads.

Welcome to the Corvair Forum! I'm afraid that your entry here was posted too late to be included in the March poll. Can you resubmit this entry for the April Corvair of the Month?

Re: Vote 4 Corvair of the Month March 2015
Both cars entered this month were beautiful, and I had a difficult time with my vote. In the end, it was the careful attention to detail and the mild custom look that gave this 1967 Monza a unique and refined appearance that won it for me. I would sure love to own that 1964 convertible, though!
