Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month September 2014
This is my 1967 Monza 110 4speed. Her name is Stella and she was assembled at the Antwerp GM plant in Belgium Europe in 1967. My father bought her from the first owner about 30 years ago and put her in storage. When i turned 18 he gave her to me. It took me a couple of years to save the money i needed to get her back on the road and since a couple of years she is my daily driver. She is completely original except for a front Camaro spoiler, an aftermarket radio and the two front wheelarches have been repainted.

Welcome to the Corvair Forum!
'Hey Stella!' ~ A [Corvair] Streetcar Named Desire
The name "Stella" reminds me of the 1951 Marlon Brando film...
... How did you come up with the nickname "Stella" for your beautiful 1967 Monza???
Would you be willing to add some detailed pictures of your Corvair engine compartment and interior?
Again, welcome.
Good luck in the Corvair of the Month competition. I hope we hear more from you. Where do you live???

I wondered the same thing, but considering the small bows on the mirror and door handles, I figured this is just some European culture thing — maybe a way of giftwrapping something???

I'll post some more pictures once i get home, i don't have them on my phone. Actually, it was my girlfriend who came up with the name Stella.
In Belgium, the white ribbon, often in combination with white flowers, is traditionally used as decoration for cars during weddings. A friend of mine asked for my car to be the ceremonial car, that's why it was decorated.

Christine is my 69 Monza cp, 110, pg. I rescued her from 28 years in the back of semi-trailer
40 miles east of Tampa fl, Last registered in Ohio in 1974. when I got her she had 41,xxx miles
on her and was 70% blue and 30% surface rust red. The interior was intact and sure was BLUE,
it immediately started to disintegrate . She will never be a trailer queen but trying to make her as
dependable and comfortable as possible. Two major things left on the to do list is power steering
( electric ) and A/C.

Re: ENTER- Corvair of the Month September 2014
Howdy guys!
This month I'm entering my 61 Monza, Rose! She's my second Monza but the first that I actually tracked down and that has MY name on the title. She was a Georgia car and came to Michigan when the family moved there in the 70's, and features rare factory AC. I've done lots of work on her myself and plan on doing much more in the future. She has an 84 HP engine. We just installed the new carpet and the stereo last week, and she was the star of our wedding on the 30th of August. She's all original except for the cherry bomb muffler that I have on her. I also installed the bowtie exhaust tip.
Rose will be getting a fresh coat of paint all all the dents pulled professionally in the near future. This Vair is my daily driver and only car, therefore doesn't look her best after the winter we've had, but she'll be gorgeous when we get all the body work done and dents removed. She is also rust free.
