l will put my V8 car in. It is a 1965 Monza originally Evening Orchid with air conditioning, black interior, and an auto transmission. The door handles have been shaved as well as the antenna, and gas door. I am in the process of getting th AC stuff reinstalled, and removing the huge aftermarket sound system. I will post more pictures soon but here she is with some temporary wheels. It has a 327 Corvette engine, TH425 trans., Acura GSR seats front and rear. Front disc brakes, Willwood master cylinder, Griffin aluminum radiator, and more to come, including a return to the original paint color.

:chevy: 1961 Corvair Monza 900 coupe :chevy:
Bought for $600 its been sitting since 1986 in Casa Grande, AZ. The first thing i did was take out the fuel tank. Cleaned it and the sending unit; also flushed the fuel lines. After that my dad and I dropped the motor and found the bearings crank and cam to be in serviceable limits. We then honed the cylinders and installed new rings. A friend I know rebuilt the carburetors, distributor, and provided the parts for an alternator conversion. Also, a magnesium fan. Dual exhaust then installed. The wire harness in the engine bay was gone through, chaffs and bad wires repaired and/or replaced. After the engine was running AZDave showed us how to use the unison to trim the carbs. We had the electric fuel pump conversion but went back to manual, due to numerous pump failures. Previous owner had a 3 speed in it but it came with a 4 speed when new. My dad and I opened up a 4 speed from a 64, disassembled it and cleaned it up. We reassembled and resealed it. Now the car has a 4 speed instead of the 3 speed I bought it with. We also installed a new speedo cable. On to the brakes, we installed a new master cylinder, flushed and blew out all the brake lines. We installed new brake shoes and had the drums turned. We were able to rebuild the wheel cylinders except one and the wheel bearings were still serviceable. 4 KYB gas shocks were installed. In the interior, the light switch was rebuild and a rebuilt speedometer/instrument panel installed and all new bulbs were put in. The original radio still worked so we installed a new speaker, noise filter and new antenna. The window regulators were removed, cleaned and lubed. Pedals got new pads. On the exterior, new signal light lenses up front and '63 tail lights installed and rotated 90 degrees. The head lights got new adjusters. Tires are 17580R-13 from Discount Tires and rims have been sandblasted and painted, hubcap and trim rings installed. Hand painted pinstripes were laid over old finish. The car runs Great!! I'd like to thank the members of the Cactus Corvair Club for all the help and support with this ongoing project!!

I first entered this contest in March 2012 and thought that I would try again. Below are pictures of my 1966 Monza Sport Sedan (referred to a "Special Deluxe" in Canada), 110 HP, automatic, Aztec Bronze, with Oldsmobile wheels. The car was manufactured at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada GM assembly plant in March 1966 and was one of 793 Monza's manufactured in Canada in 1966. It was purchased new at an Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Chevrolet dealership in May 1966 and has lived in Edmonton since then. I am the third owner and have owned it since September 2008.
