Hello from DC, or is it Chicago?

Post by keitho64 »

Well I disappear off Corvair Center for a while to conduct business and lo' and behold there is a new place to hang out.

For those of you who do not know me I generally live in Chicago but am doing dual duty between there and DC for work. I have a 63 Spyder (factory 3 speed car) that will soon be all mine (I have had it in my garage for almost a year now) and I have a 64 Monza Convertible 110 4-speed. Secretly, inside, I really want a late model coupe.

I figure I might as well do the formal introduction, and now back t o your regularly scheduled Corvair Talk.

Hello and Welcome,

I live about an hour north of the Washington DC area in Westminster Maryland.

The reason for this reply is to inform you that some of us from Baltimore CORSA will be headed up to Gettysburg Pennsylvania for an annual "Open House" at the Corvair Ranch on Sunday May 23rd 2010.
We will be meeting at the Cactus Willies on route 140 in Wesminster MD at 10:00 AM to travel together.
If you were to follow Georgia Avenue (Route 97) it will take you all the way to Route 140 in Westminster.
Cactus Willies is in the Shopping Center on the left side with the Shoppers Food Warehouse and Five Guy's.

If you have never been to the Corvair Ranch it is worth the trip.
I have posted more information in the events section for both Maryland and Pennsylvania areas.

Thanks, I am planning to go to The Corvair Ranch. I joined the Northern Virginia Club and was going to look into the Baltimore club as well. I actually live in Boyds which is about 20 miles south of Frederick right off 270. I will check out your post on the event and I am sure I will see you there.

Scott - thanks, I really admire you coupe. I was watching as you were getting it running. It is looking great!
