Just bought my first Corvair - 1968 Monza 110 :)

Post by lior_baruch »

Hey everyone,

Just bought a "new" Corvair - 1968 Monza 110.

I'm new to the Corvair's world.. I wanted a Corvair since the day I got my license (about 17 years ago).

I'm from Israel, meaning that the car that I bought in Iowa will be sent to NJ and from there by a boat to Israel, it will be the only 65-69 Corvair here (that survived... all were dumped years ago).

Anything special I should know and do/don't do? I'm very excited, to be honest, it will take few months until I'll actually have it here...

Congratulations on your first Corvair and welcome to the board. That is a really nice looking 68 you got. There are lots of things you should do and shouldn't do.
Don't over torque the bolts.
Do put oil or anti seize on the spark plugs and bolts that go into aluminum.

Just ask questions along the way and you'll be fine. They are fun cars and easy to work on. Enjoy it!

Wow neat, Lior! :welcome2: It's nice to see you're going above and beyond to get into 'vairs. I think you've found a good place here.....corvair people are a small tight group. All I can say is don't be afraid to dive right in and keep your vair adjusted up and it's oil leaks managed. They are a simple car and easy to work on.

It looks great . I almost bought the same American Racing wheels that you have.

Be sure to enter your car in next months Corvair of the month contest.

Hi Lior, Great looking car! I hope you have many hours of enjoyment driving it. It's nice to see a nice car from my home state end up overseas and in the hands of an international corvair enthusiast. Have a great day!!

The reason your photographs do not display is that they are physical jpeg computer files on your hard drive. For us to be able to view them you must upload each image file as an attachment.

The img markers are only useful to point to another Internet website location where the images can already be viewed. The image URL address is copied and pasted from the web page and pasted between the img markers on the Corvair Forum post to point to each Web page image address that is hosting the picture.
