Newbie to forum in Maryland
Hi all,
I was browsing e-bay a few minutes ago and stumbled across the tee shirts promoting this site.
Since 1973 I have been involved in Corvairs in one way or another. I have probably owned in excess of twenty Corvairs over the years and currently have a 1965 Monza coupe that I have never driven. It was dis-assembled 20 plus years ago and given a lacquer paint job but never re-assembled. I have owned it for about six years but it still sits in the garage of the guy I bought it from. (yes another Corvair junkie). This car is a real rust free example with 35,000 showing.
Among the Corvairs I have owned these are a few:
First Corvair I remember. 1962 Monza Wagon. Black, red bucket's auto w/positraction. My dad bought it new then sold it in the late sixties. I found it, bought it, sold it, regret it. Last known location was Florida about ten years ago.
I still have the screws that hold down the engine cover somewhere.
First car. 1963 500 coupe, black, automatic, red interior.
First car tagged & driven 1965 Corsa convertible, 140, burgundy, black interior, black top. I learned to love these cars.
Most fun Corvair. 1966 Monza coupe (Corsa trimmed) Kelmark mid engine. Had it for sixteen years and went through a transaxle or two (well maybe more than that LOL) Sold it, regret it.
I have an unused Crown Kit that I will probably never use and could be talked out of it. (no engine cover)
I am looking forward to communicating with you here. I live in Westminster MD and belong to a small local CORSA chapter here in the Baltimore area (CORSA of Baltimore).
The first club I belonged to was Group Corvair based in Rockville MD back in the mid seventies.
Again, Hello all.

Yeah - welcome and great intro !
I had a Crown V8 back in the 70s and broke a few tranaxles myself but the car was a blast to drive.
Most of the corvair people I've met have or have had several Corvairs , they are addicting.
I've been to many states and even briefly lived on the east coast but I've never been to MD.
My old V8 car back when I still had some hair (late 70s).

I seem to recall a very special '69 COPO Camaro as well! I thought Jed was going to buy his old car back...I guess not.
