"UNSAFE" is In Da House !!!!!!!
Hello to all. My name is Kevin Willson but you can call me "UNSAFE".
I live in rainy landlocked Juneau Alaska. Juneau is in the Southern part of Alaska and it has a mild climate compared to most of Alaska.
I will be 55 years old tomorrow.
I've always been a car guy as was my father. My first vair was a 65 sedan with a 140 PG. It was a dog and I sold it quickly. Paid 100 and sold for 200 , I was rich !
Next Vair was a rusty corsa Vert with a 110 in it. I had a blast driving that poor ole thing.
Next came my blue 68 Corv8. That thing was fast and fun but it didn't have enough brake to be safe and I was always busting transaxle parts.
I went a few years without a vair when I moved back to Alaska but the came across a 67 Monza with a 140 4 sp. I drove that car everyday for almost ten years including Alaskan winters.
Then I came across a one owner 68 Fitch Sprint which I fully restored and took to my first convention in 1999 in Tahoe.
Then I bought a big bore motor to put into the Sprint. My better judgement took over and I decided to get another Vair to put the motor in. I found the 65 Monza that I have now in Portland Or thru the CORSA classified ads.
I flew to portland and drove the car to california and the up the coast to seattle where I shipped it to Juneau on a barge.
I installed the big motor and I have been enjoying it ever since !

And Tony, your car is the other reason that pushed me to get a Corvair.TonyL wrote:Hey Kevin! I still love your car and want your brakes!

I was trying to let you live it down but since you brought it up ! :D
Pic is from the drag races at the Kentucky convention in 2004. I traveled a long way only to blow my motor in the 4th run against Michael's mom Sharon driving Billy Bruce's
Early model drag car. My losing time was a 14.9 .
The race against Michael's Stinger was pretty close. He got me off the line but I caught him at the end. Meeting the LeVeques and many others made the trip well worth the effort.
I remember Michael saying my car sounded like a Freight Train as I went by.
Michael offered to let me drive his yellow race car at the detroit convention. It was fast !!! Also let me use the leveque compound last year to repair my motor (yeah , again !) at the Indy Olympics.
And to top it off I just received a Christmas card from Michael LeVeque and family. Thanks and Merry Christmas to all of you to. Please tell Warren I said Hi !

Thank's Tony ! I have several pics of your car and have come across it on a few websites. Seems like there was a video too ?
The brakes are really an improvement besides looking cool. Mine are pretty basic compared to some that I've seen but are still more than adequate.
I'll start a disk brake thread one of these days . I bought the fronts as a kit but I made my own rear brackets. LeVair can supply rears if you want to save the hassle of designing you own.
A few old pics.
